Aceh Scholarship Corruption Case Drags 400 Students, Here Are the Facts – Student Zone

ipadguides.id – The Aceh Regional Police (Polda) stated that seven students returned state losses for the alleged corruption case of the Aceh Government scholarships for the 2017 budget year amounting to Rp. 16.3 million. 400 of the 803 scholarship recipients are potential suspects.

Head of the Public Relations Division of the Aceh Police, Kombes Pol. Winardy, in Banda Aceh, said the seven students returned them to a post established by Unit III Sub-Directorate of 3 Corruption Crimes at the Aceh Police Special Criminal Investigation Directorate.

“The total loss to the state that was returned by the seven scholarship recipients was Rp. 16.3 million. The scholarship money is returned, because they do not meet the requirements as recipients of education funding assistance from the Aceh Government,” said Kombes Pol Winardy.

1. 61 Students Return Scholarship

Kombes Pol Winardy said that currently 61 students have returned the scholarship money they previously received. The total state money returned by the 61 students reached Rp729.79 million.

The Aceh Police are still providing opportunities for students who receive scholarships, but do not meet the requirements, to return them immediately.

2. Loss of IDR 22.3 billion

Investigators from the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Aceh Police said the loss due to the alleged corruption in the Aceh Government scholarships for the 2017 fiscal year reached Rp. 22.3 billion.

The scholarship budget is placed in the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) of Aceh Province. The scholarships were distributed to 803 recipients.

3. 400 Students are Potential Suspects

4. Total 7 Suspects of Corruption in Aceh Scholarship

He ensured that the handling of the alleged corruption case would continue and now investigators have named seven suspects after the case was filed.

The seven suspects include SYR; then FZ and RSL as Budget User Proxy (KPA); FY as PPTK; SM, RDJ and RK as the coordinator of the scholarship.

SYR is the former Head of the Aceh Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM). The Aceh Police have also reported this case to the KPK.
