Besides Boba, Here Are 5 Things You Can Enjoy in Taiwan! – ipadguides

When I joined the 2019 Asia Super Team event in Taiwan some time ago, I just realized that Taiwan has many interesting tourist attractions!

So on the sidelines of hunting for boba drinks, you can go to these places, haha! Btw if you don’t know, it’s all boba drinks like chatime, koi, tiger sugar, kokumi, all from Taiwan guys!

Oh yes, Asia Super Team is a competition between companies in Asia. A kind of amazing race whose games require team cohesion. A kind of team building games at an office outing. So much fun!

Let’s take a look at my recommended places of interest. Don’t forget to also watch the Asia Super Team episode below to watch the excitement of the Indonesian Team in action against other Asian teams! Check playlists full all episodes in this link.

1. Hidden Gem in Wanhua District Old Town, Bopiliao Old Street (剝皮寮老街)

Wanhua is the district where there is the ‘old town’ of Taipei. Well this Bopiliao was once the main road used for trade in the Qing Dynasty, especially for the coal trade.

The unique architecture here is very varied. A mixture of Taiwanese architecture, Qing Dynasty, Japan (because Japan also briefly occupied this area), Western, and Chinese. Unique isn’t it?

In one corner of Bopiliao street, there is a shop and a workshop for making traditional signboards commonly used for shop/shop/business markers. So, this is the first Challenge from Asia Super Team, participants are required to make their own company signboard!

Strolling the Bopiliau area feels like going back in time. There are some old movie posters that are decorations. Some murals can also be seen here. The place is not too crowded and of course instagram-able!

2. See Flying Relaxing Cultural Attractions on Daxi Old Street

Daxi District is famous for its dried tofu. A kind of tofu skin that is slightly dark brown in color and has a firmer texture than ordinary tofu skin. But actually there is something else that makes Daxi better known, namely the art of Santaizi.

Santaizi is a kind of Taiwanese drama art performance where the performers use cosplay of various Taiwanese heroes and urban legend characters.

At Fu Ren Temple, which is located on Daxi Old street, the Asia Super Team participants are required to wear costumes and perform some relaxing movements. But not ordinary Santaizi, but flying relaxed! So participants will be lifted by a crane which is usually used for construction activities. Ropes are tied to the participants as if they were going to wall climbing. This is really funny :))

Address : No.100, Heping Rd., Daxi Dist., Taoyuan City Taiwan, ROC More info

3. Enjoy Taiwanese souvenirs at Xinpu : Persimmon!

Besides Boba, Here Are 5 Things You Can Enjoy in Taiwan! – ipadguides 4

In Taiwan, the persimmon is very much used. It even becomes a fun snack souvenir. Now in the processing of this snack, the persimmons must be peeled. The peeled residue is used as a dye for clothes!

In the dye process with this persimmon, it produces a dark brown color that tends to be a slightly muted orange. It’s a bit pastel, it’s really pretty. Here we are challenged to create an interesting motif by tying the cloth in such a way to form a pattern.

Location: Jin Han Persimmon Dried TW

4. Learn to play the saxophone in a place that makes 50% of the world’s saxophones

In this saxophone LC, there are museums, shops, and even a stage for saxophone performances. This place has been around since 1945 and is a pioneer in the industry of making musical instruments whose sound is very sensual.

The Saxophone Museum here is the only one in Asia. The collection is amazingly complete. This is where the last Asia Super Team challenge was held. The challenge sounds very easy, which is to sound do re mi fa sol la si do with the saxophone! It turned out to be extraordinarily difficult and the voices these participants made made us burst out laughing!

That’s it! Here are some anti-mainstream places that you can visit in Taiwan. Don’t forget to watch some episodes of Asia Super Team and my vlogs to make it more fun to enjoy these places.

So, when are you traveling to Taiwan?
