While in Bandung for a few weeks ago, I tried an interesting application for booking low-cost lodging.
Starting from seeing the advert on TV, I became more and more confident in Airy Rooms, so I downloaded the iOS application.
In contrast to other applications that book hotels directly, this application, called Airy Rooms, is actually working with hotels to manage some of the rooms in the hotel to achieve certain standards.
These standards are 7 guarantees of comfort for us so we don’t have to hesitate to book a room even though the price is in the category budget (for myself, the budget category is under 500 thousand). 7 Comfort guarantees from Airy rooms are : Clean beds, Free Wifi, flat screen TV, AC, hot shower, toiletries, and free drinking water!
Interesting right? So I immediately tried to book through the application on my smartphone. For those who go through the website directly, you can too.
I immediately searched for locations in Bandung. Immediately a map appears with a price display. Since I wanted to be near the location of my travel shuttle, I looked in the Pasteur area.
In this application the hotel name is not listed. The only thing listed is Airy [nama jalan]. For example like the application screenshot example above. No problem, as long as the location is visible and the comfort facilities are guaranteed, I don’t mind.
The hotel photos in airy rooms are very complete, clear, and up to date. I chose a room that seemed very cozy for a price of around 300 thousand per night. The location is not far from the crowd if you look at the location on the map.
I choose a room, and proceed to the payment process. It can be done by credit card, bank transfer, or to a mini market like Indomaret (coming soon, he said).
And that’s that!
Shortly afterwards the voucher appeared in my app and email. Then, is the guarantee of comfort true as on the website? Let’s prove it.
When we arrived at the location, it turned out that the hotel, which is quite a magnificent building, is not located on the side of the road, but in a small street where residents live. Not hard to find, only about 3 minutes walking from the main road. The sky blue Airy rooms logo is also clearly visible.
The check-in process went smoothly without any problems. The room was ready when I arrived at 3 pm. I got a room on the third floor.

Everything is according to what is stated on the airy rooms website. AC and hot shower are also complete and in perfect condition. I even got a complementary snack! Yes, it’s okay, there are instant porridge, packaged tea, and chocolate biscuits that can swell my stomach a little before dinner.
Oh yes, while doing some work in Bandung, I also took the time to take a walk around the city. Since I used to study in this city, I wanted to reminisce a bit with my favorite places.
I went to Roti Gempol on Jalan Gempol Wetan, in the area around the back of the satay building. Toast place home made This always makes me miss the wheat bread which is very dense but not dry. It’s delicious to make a salty version of meat plus cheese, or a sweet version. I used to bike here almost every week. The place hasn’t changed at all. Duh, so I want to go there again.
But before coming here, I also had time to stop by early in the morning to the cliffs of the palace at Taman Hutan Raya Ir. H Juanda (Tahura) to enjoy a cold morning in the typical urban forest of this flower city.
So I want to move to Bandung again, okay?
Currently Airy rooms are widely spread in Jakarta, Tangerang, Bekasi, Bogor, Bandung, Bali, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Batam, Solo, Padang, Makassar, Medan and several other cities in Indonesia.
