The tweet was shared by the Twitter account @sbmptnfess, Friday (12/3/2021) morning. The price is also quite varied, ranging from Rp. 40 to Rp. 400 million. The uploader also wrote that entering PTN through the back lane or referred to as the “toll lane” does exist.

Ministry of Education and Culture’s Response
The Director General (Dirjen) of Higher Education (Dikti) of the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud), Prof. Nizam, who is also a professor at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) emphasized that the information circulating was not true.
The reason, said Nizam, is that the national selection of new students at PTN is based on merit, both based on invitations and tests.
“So, if there are brokers who claim to be able to enter someone into a PTN that is not true,” said Nizam.
Until now, he said, there are three routes to enter PTN. The three pathways are the National Selection for State University Entrance (SNMPTN), Joint Selection for State University Entrance (SBMPTN), and independent selection.
“The SNMPTN is an invitation based on student achievement, the SBMPTN is based on a national university entrance test, and an independent PTN entry selection,” he said.
Nizam also appealed to the public not to believe in offers that promise to help them enter PTN. He said that he would ask the organizers of the higher education entrance test, in this case the LTMPT, to pay attention to this issue.
In addition, the public is expected to have the courage to report the disturbing brokers to the authorities for legal proceedings.
“I also asked the LTMPT committee to make press release and remind people not to be deceived and report brokers to the authorities,” said Nizam.
