The increase in the price of cooking oil had made a lot of people excited. This problem resulted in the uneven supply of cooking oil in various supermarkets. In fact, there has been a new price that has been set by the government since February 1, 2022.
Since the price has dropped to Rp. 14,000 per liter, cooking oil has become increasingly difficult to find in minimarkets. Not only in stores offlinea lot of cooking oil is used up marketplace or shop on line.
Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi set the renewal of the highest retail price (HET) for cooking oil on February 1, 2022 for bulk, simple and premium packaged cooking oil. However, this policy actually makes people do panic buying.
Many people are buying up the latest price of cooking oil which is much cheaper than the previous price. As a result, there is a shortage of cooking oil which is the supply of goods that is increasingly being accepted by retail stores. Many sellers have difficulty filling cooking oil stocks.
Have a little patience, Mother. Chairman of the Indonesian Retail Entrepreneurs Association (Aprindo), Roy Nicholas Mandey, said that cooking oil supplies in retail stores would be available at the end of February 2022. He promised that cooking oil distribution would be back to normal by the end of this month.
“Yesterday at the National Religious Coordination Meeting, we, Aprindo, were invited together with the Ministry of Trade, hopefully it has been delivered yesterday. Hopefully at the end of this month starting next week it (cooking oil) will be smooth. Hopefully the supply will start smoothly, okay?” said Roy on Saturday (19/2/2022).

Roy Nicholas also hopes that the supply of cooking oil at the end of February can be evenly distributed. Not only retail stores, cooking oil is expected to be easily found in traditional markets.
Regarding the price, the cooking oil that will be sold will still follow the price regulation set by the government in early February, Mother.
For you to know, the HET for the bulk cooking oil category is set at Rp11,500 per liter. Meanwhile, simple packaged cooking oil is Rp. 13,500 per liter, and premium cooking oil is Rp. 14,000 per liter.
