It is undeniable that the speed of a website is one of the important things to rank on search engines. Around 47% of visitors expect website content to load in 2 seconds, while 40% of visitors will leave the website if it takes more than 3 seconds to load (data from kissmetrics). To overcome this, you can use GTMetrix to optimize your website.
In certain situations, a tool can help measure the speed of your website and check for changes. GTMetrix itself provides checking and optimization features for websites. This tool is a combination of Google and Yahoo’s tools, so it certainly provides maximum website optimization.
GTMetrix also provides a fairly easy-to-understand explanation regarding the results of checking the website before you can optimize it later. How to use it is quite easy, you only need to enter the website URL to analyze the website. Wait for some time and you will see the result.

Step 1: Test the Website with GTMeterix
In this tutorial we will explain step by step by doing an analysis on ipadguidestutorial.com. We use the default template from WordPress.
2. Wait a few moments until the analysis process is complete and the results appear. You will see the results of Google Page Speedscore YSlowLoading Time, and Page Size.
3. After you know the results, now is the time to optimize scores with low grades, so that their grades increase.
The purpose of this step is to increase the overall score in the Performance Scores.
It is very important to understand the results of the GTMetrix analysis, so that you can make improvements according to the suggestions given.
Let’s discuss one by one.
On the far left you can see the PageSpeed tab. Here, the website ipadguidestutorial.com has a PageSpeed Score of 82%. To increase this score, you can optimize the parts of the website that still have low scores.
YSlow is part of the website analysis results. Just like Google Page Speed, the analysis results displayed by YSlow also show the part of the website that causes a decrease in performance.
Next up is Waterfall. In the chart provided you will see a purple bar. This is the length of time until the request is complete, and you can see the time in seconds on the right. You can also see which links are causing the loading speed to decrease by hovering over the section GET.
Tab timings will display the results of further analysis, including the duration of page loading. The details available here are redirect time, connect time, backend timeetc.
In this section you can see the website testing process in video form. You need to login first before doing the test.
As the name suggests, tab History contains website testing data that you have done before. History will be automatically deleted after 30 days if you don’t have an account.
