ipadguides.id – The conflict between Lecturers and Chancellors of ITB is getting hotter. It started with the news regarding the revocation of the ITB School of Business and Management (SBM) Swakelola which had a huge impact on students.
As a result, online and offline teaching and learning activities are abolished. Regarding this, the campus also declared students to study independently. In fact, there is also a banner that reads ‘SBM ITB does not accept new students anymore’.

Conflict between SBM ITB Lecturer and ITB Chancellor
The aftermath of the conflict between the ITB SBM Lecturer Forum and the ITB Chancellor is still a hot topic. Initially, the SBM ITB Lecturer Forum stated that it would not operate starting on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. Likewise, the learning process could no longer be carried out, or students were asked to study independently.
The issue of this conflict was apparently triggered by the revocation of the right to self-management of SBM ITB by the ITB Chancellor, Reini Wirahadikusumah without any notification or agreement.
Because of this, there is a banner that is displayed on Jl Tamansari, Bandung City. Until Member of Commission X DPR, Andreas Hugo asked Mendikbudristek Nadiem Makarim to intervene to handle the internal conflict.
Andreas is worried that if the conflict gets wider it will damage the reputation of education at the prestigious Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) campus. In addition, he said the conflict between the Lecturer and the ITB Chancellor would damage the public’s trust in the related campus.
“SBM ITB, which has been operating for 18 years with a self-managed status and has achieved an international reputation, has experienced an internal conflict which resulted in the resignation of the dean and a strike to teach lecturers which has an impact on public trust in SBM,” he quoted Detik.
Then, Andreas asked Nadiem Makarim to intervene to lighten the atmosphere and provide a solution to the conflict. He also highlighted the fate of the students if this conflict continued.
“Mendikbudristek need to mediate to find solutions to conflicts that do not benefit SBM. What about the fate of students who are participating in the education process, if this conflict is prolonged?” said Andreas.
Apart from that, Representative of the ITB SBM Lecturer Forum Achmad Ghazali revealed that the policies launched by the ITB Rector since the last two months were considered to complicate the existing program.
According to him, SBM ITB lecturers no longer receive incentives than they usually get. The reason is, they only get the basic salary of employees based on rank and class without any incentives.
“For the past two months, we have only received the basic salary of ITB employees according to rank and class, but there is no incentive from SBM,” said Achmad.
