Learning to Use TikTok Videos, A New Way to Develop Learning Methods in the Midst of a Pandemic – Student Zone

ipadguides.id – The pandemic in the middle of the education sector makes educators not run out of ideas to innovate in conveying knowledge to their students. One of the innovations carried out is learning activities using TikTok which is a new learning method developed in the midst of a pandemic.

The Indonesian Teachers Association (IGI) and the Indonesian Digital School Network (JSDI) develop their teaching creativity by creating and filling out educational content on one of these short video distribution platforms.

Training on Creating Educational Content

Launching from Okezone.com, the training which was attended by more than 2,000 teachers contained practical tips for creating educational content as well as tips so that teachers can carry out their role in keeping their students safe on the internet.

“In line with our mission to empower teachers with digital skills, this training can be a morning provision for IGI and JSDI members so that they can adapt to the times and remain relevant for their students,” said General Chairperson of the Indonesian Digital School Network Muhammad Ramli Rahim in written statement, Wednesday (10/3/2021).

Some of the teachers who took part in the training have also practiced creating educational video content that is quite popular through TikTok.

For example, Budi Santoso, a teacher who teaches Mathematics in Maluku, uploaded a video about mathematics in a simple and fun format by adding features such as music, text and stickers. Currently, his quick math video has more than 3,000 views.

There is also Muni Yaarti, an English teacher from South Sumatra who uses a video sharing platform to share her knowledge with students through the platform. The content he creates gets support and a positive response from his students.

Finally, a teacher from Tolitoli, Heri Lukito, who uses the platform to provide education on the dangers of drugs to his students.

He assigned his students to make a short video on TikTok about the dangers of drugs using the creator’s version of the song “Linting Daun” which has already had 25 million views.

Appreciation From TikTok

TikTok Indonesia Head of Content and Operations Angga Anugrah Putra appreciates the creativity of teachers by utilizing the creator platform and sharing short videos during the Distance Learning period in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Hopefully the training that has been held can provide new enthusiasm and inspiration for Indonesian teachers to create educational and inspiring content on TikTok so as to increase the diversity of users and content on TikTok,” he said.

To access various educational-based content on TikTok, users can visit the hashtag #SamaSamaBelajar which has now reached 50 billion views.
