But here, our focus is only on the Timeline, for Proxy Clips you can use it if you are editing video in a format that is beyond your PC’s understanding, for example, a client asks for 8K editing even though your PC is an I3 Processor like mine. Haha

Let’s shift to the next tab, which is Proxy

Proxy tab in Project Settings

This Proxy tab functions as a place to set if you happen to get a Video Editing job with a Source that exceeds the reasonable limits of your PC’s capabilities, if not or your computer is SULTAN, just ignore this. Because the project will continue to run smoothly, except for a “1 week power outage”

proxy settings

You can check Enable proxy clips to enable the proxy and you can choose the encoding profile that was here…

  • MJPEG-vaapi
  • MPEG2
  • NVENC H264
  • NVENC H265
  • ProRES
  • x264
  • x264-nvenc
  • x264-vaapi

in section generate for video larger thanin the city next to it, you can determine the resolution limit for how many videos are encoded / enter mode proxy.

on generate for image larger than, in the city next to it, you can specify the resolution limit of how many images / images are encoded / enter mode proxy.

you can even use an external proxy clip, here the choice is SONY PXW

After that we slide to the side…

Metadata tab in Project Settings

This is very useful for embedding our video identity later, where the most important thing is the metadata title, author, copyright, year

metadata settings

You can click the + button to add and – to delete the list metadata.

Project File tab in Project Settings

If the Project File tab is more about recording / history of project files that we have used, there are Clips used in projects, unused clips, project files (video, audio, image, slideshow, playlist, text and others)

project files

Cache Data tab in Project Settings

The cache is actually for temporary storage so it’s fast and doesn’t stutter in editing, because it doesn’t have to be mapped again, but with a cache, it will reduce lag.

file cache

It’s similar to the one in Premiere preferences, so here you can delete images, video clips and others that are no longer relevant so that your hard drive is relieved again,

there is a timeline preview, proxy clips, audio thumbnails, video thumbnailsyou can delete it if you feel it is not too important.

In the project’s total cache data section, you can map this to different drivee if indeed disk c is already full.

If it’s done, it’s OK… it’s done.
