Around Makassar it turns out that there are so many beautiful islands with white sand beaches and also beautiful snorkeling spots, some of which are Samalona Island and Kondingareng Keke Island.
These two islands are part of Spermonde Islands.
Every time I hear the name Spermonde, it feels weird. His name is very similar to sperm. I don’t know why these islands are named Spermonde.
One of my friends said, because if you look at this group of islands, it looks like sperm.
The Spermonde Archipelago has approximately 100 small islands. Previously I had also been to Cangke Island which is also located in the Spermonde Islands.
If I hear the island, my mind must be full of shadows of the sun, beaches, and of course snorkeling.

The underwater beauty of Kodingareng Keke Island
Ok, my friends and I have ready in the morning and meet-up at Bangkoa Wood Harbor. We’re leaving 10 people, so if share cost quite cheap, only around Rp. 40,000 per person.
Well, our first destination is Kodingareng Keke Island first. I thought it would be a busy Sunday, but it’s not. At that time, Kodingareng Keke Island was still not widely known.
There was only my group so it felt like a private island. Kodingareng Keke Island is an uninhabited island. Strangely, when I was there there was even a cat. This small island is very natural, there are only weeds.
I really like the natural Kodingareng Keke Island, especially the clear sea water. The beach on one side of the island has beautiful white sand. Most importantly, the coral reefs are incredibly beautiful.

Almost all day we snorkeled on Kodingareng Keke Island. Coincidentally, my friends and I really like it freediving also.
Visibility the water at that time was a good gorge because the day before it had rained. But the coral reefs, the fish, wow, that’s great.
Coral reefs also vary. Just swim from the beach and you will be greeted with beautiful coral reefs. Satisfied, snorkeling here.
Visit to Samalona Island
After satisfied snorkeling, we headed to Samalona Island. Samalona Island is indeed already better known and has many visitors. I don’t really have high hopes for Samalona Island.
The sea water is very blue, so remember Derawan Island.
Unfortunately for snorkeling not very good. Near tower the sea is there spot pretty good, just visibilityit’s not good either.
If you want to rent snorkeling equipment, you can rent it on Samalona Island. The price for a set is approximately IDR 50,000. My camera battery has run out so I can’t take photos on Samalona Island.
During my stay in Makassar, my friends and I often played and snorkelled on Kodingareng Keke Island. Really, never bored. The distance is close from Makassar, cheap, and fun too freediving.
Well, if you’re on vacation to Makassar and don’t have time to go to Bira Beach, you can just play here Samalona Island and Kodingareng Keke Island which is not far from Makassar.
